Mr. Wayne Baxter Ellison, 73 of Walnut Grove, Alabama, was born on September 29, 1951, to Dennis and Marie (Farlow) Ellison and passed away on July 18, 2025, at his residence. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Young; his parents; his brother, Ottis Ellison; and his brother-in-law, James Hyatt.

Wayne was married to his wife, Marie, for 41 years.  He never met a stranger and he loved crappie fishing with his best friend, Phillip Nix.

Mr. Ellison is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie Carson Ellison; his daughter, Britt Ellison Coody; his daughter, Kristie Grogan; his son Josh Ellison; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dale Floyd; his daughter, Donna Baily; his son, Ray Pannell; his daughter, Keisha Pannell; his grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, Zack, Shon, Danielle, Savanah, Danny and wife Tammy, Tina, Stacy, Candice, Kendra, Zay, Summer, Madison; twenty four great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Dewayne Bennett will conduct the Funeral Service on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00pm at Snead Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Sunday beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Altoona-Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Shone Coody, Danny Floyd, Joey Ellison, Johnny Lyles, Zay Moody, and Zach Ellison have been asked to serve as Pallbearers with Jason Hyatt, Tyler Grogan, and Jake Grogan as Honorary Pallbearers.
