With deep respect and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Wallace Clemons O'Dell, who departed this life on August 2, 2026, at Altoona Healthcare. Born on December 13, 1937, in Alabama, Wallace lived a long and meaningful life spanning nearly nine decades.

Wallace was a cherished presence in all the lives he touched. His journey began in the heart of Alabama, where his early years would set the foundation for a life defined by steadfast principles and devotion to family. Throughout the years, Wallace demonstrated a quiet strength and dignity that became his hallmark.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Glenda O'Dell, whose memory remained ever-present in his heart. In their years together, they built a family marked by love and unity, creating a lasting legacy that endures in those who survive him.

Wallace leaves behind a devoted family: his sons and their wives Steve O'Dell (Kay), Dodd O'Dell (Nancy), and Tony O'Dell (Ginger), who will forever cherish the guidance, wisdom, and love he shared with them. His influence extends to six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, each of whom carry forward pieces of his spirit. Wallace is also fondly remembered by sisters Brenda Ginn and Norma Higgins. A host of nieces and nephews mourn his loss, remembering the kindness and support he offered throughout their lives.

He became blind in his teen years but that did not stop him from his accomplishments. In his early years he built water beds. Being able to do this type of woodworking while being blind drew the attention of a TV station in Huntsville, which did a showcase piece on him.  He later became a Piano Technician. Mr. O'Dell could and enjoyed being able to play several different instruments.  

As we honor Wallace Clemons O'Dell, we remember a life of integrity, and quiet strength. His values and his caring heart remain as a lasting testament to all who knew him. The memory of his life and the lessons he imparted will continue to inspire those privileged enough to walk part of life's journey with him.
