Mrs. Velvie Velene Lyles, age 93 of Snead, AL., passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at St.Vincent East Hospital.

Ms. Lyles is survived by her daughter and son-in-law - Shirley and Vernon Wigley; her daughter and son-in-law - Karintha and Richard Calverley; her son-in-law - Toby Lee; her granddaughter and husband - Kim and Ricky Shirley; her granddaughter and husband - Tina and Aaron Patterson; her granddaughter - Brandy Wigley; her granddaughter - Katelyn Calverley; her great granddaughter - Whitney Shirley; her great grandson - Zachary Shirley; her great granddaughter - Victoria Patterson; and her cherished dog - Tippy. She is also survived by her brother - Dwinnon Helms; her sister - Jean Story; and her sister - Parlee Bise.

She is preceded in death by her husband - James Lyles; her daughter - Mella Lee; her father - C.P. Helms, her mother - Bessie Davis Helms; her sister - Ellaree Helms; her sister - Gaynell Lang; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bro. Curtis Hawkins, Richard Calverley, and Jerry McDermott will conduct a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Nixon Chapel Cemetery. Ms. Lyles will lie in repose at Snead Funeral Home Saturday from 11:00am until funeral time. Immediately after the cemetery committal, friends will serve the family lunch at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in the McClarty Community. All guest are welcome to join them.

Ricky Shirley, Zachary Shirley, Chip Eason, Ricky Light, Danny Light, and Aaron Patterson will serve as pallbearers.
