Mrs. Velma Sue (Painter) Meade, age 84 of Snead, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Diversicare in Oneonta.

Mrs. Mead was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God.  She retired from Susan Moore Elementary School where she taught for 35 years.

She is survived by her brothers Abe Painter and Curtis Painter; her sisters-in-law – Ladora Painter, Barbara Painter, and Etoile Painter; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Mrs. Meade is preceded in death by her husband – Troy Meade; her parents – J.F and Mary Painter; her sisters – Jeannette Horton and Annie Ruth Cleveland; and her brother Lou Painter.

Reverend Dale Murray, Reverend Mike Painter, and Reverend Dan Godwin will conduct the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Church of God.  Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, at Mt. Zion Church of God, on Thursday from 1:00 PM until Funeral Time.

Pallbearers will be – Joe Criswell, Terry Horton, John Coffield, Steve Painter, Don Horton, and Eugene Spradlin.
