Mrs. Velma Monteen Herron, age 69 of Douglas, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in Jackson County.

Mrs. Herron is survived by her daughter Sherell Herron of Oneonta, sons Ronnie Herron, Jr. of Dutton, and Mark & Sonya Munsey of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Tony & Carolyn Hill of Cleveland, Larry & Brenda Hill of Douglas, and LaShon & Elizabeth Hill of Gadsden.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Herron, Sr., her parents L.V. & Lois Pankey Hill; her daughter Kim Wilemon; and her brothers Jerry Hill and Jimmy Hill.

Brother Charlie Brown and Brother Stanley Wilemon will conduct the funeral service @ 10:00am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery near Douglas. Mrs. Herron will lie in state at Snead Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:00am until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Hill, Harlon Wilemon, Mark Munsey, Timothy Stewart, Bob Williams, and Scott Wilemon.
