Snead

Tommie Sue Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2026, in Snead, Alabama. Born on October 4, 1942, Tommie lived a life rich with love, devotion, and joy, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Her deep love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Vicki Swann (Doyle), and sons John Jackson (Joanna), Perry Williams (Jana), and Terry Williams (Rhonda), as well as daughter-in-law, Sherri Williams.  Tommie Sue’s heart overflowed with pride and joy in her many grandchildren: Will Lyle (Felicia), Lindsay Veazey (Heath), Sally Whaley (Josh), Riley Swann (Casey), Brooke Jones (Chris), Rachel Longshore (Caleb), Katelyn Oestreich (Clint), Hannah Emery (Daniel), Jay Williams, Drake Williams, and Eason Williams. Her affection extended even further to her host of great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with warmth and kindness.

Tommie Sue found great delight in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, creating treasured memories on beach trips, mountain outings, and countless other adventures. Her passion for travel was matched only by her enthusiasm for golf and her deep-rooted faith. An active and beloved member of her church, Tommie Sue found community and strength in her spiritual home.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: sisters Jo Ann Huggins and Shelby Lewis, and brother Verbon Lindsay, Jr (Pat), along with a host of nieces and nephews. These family ties were an integral part of her life, providing support and love that nurtured her spirit through the years.

Tommie Sue’s journey was marked by the loss of those dear to her, including her husbands, Reginald Jackson and Odis Williams; her son, Phillip Williams; granddaughter, Sunny Veazey (Matt); parents Verbon Lindsay, Sr and Bessie Kornegay Lindsay; as well as her brother Lindon Lindsay, sister-in-law Brenda Lindsay, and brother-in-laws Hoppy Huggins and John Lewis. Despite these profound losses, she remained a beacon of resilience and grace.

In honor of her memory and the impact she had on so many lives, the pallbearers will be Will Lyle, Heath Veazey, Riley Swann, Jay Williams, Drake Williams, and Eason Williams, a testament to the close bonds she nurtured within her family.
