With hearts full of love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Summer Leigh Cartrette, age 26, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, who passed away and entered her heavenly home on October 19, 2025. Born on September 8, 1999, in Monroe, Georgia, Summer lived her life with radiant purpose, fierce independence, and an unshakable kindness that touched everyone she met.
Summer was a free spirit, brilliant, selfless, and full of life. Her smile could light up any room, her laughter was contagious, and her heart overflowed with compassion. She gave freely, loved deeply, and never hesitated to help those in need. Summer had a special love for children and a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her Solomon dad, her sisters Katie Lambert and Lizzy Witte, and her nephew Emmett Lankford.
Summer's beautiful legacy continues through her beloved wife Tori Lind, and her cherished family: her mom, Heather Lind, Stephanie Lind, Chad Lind, Breanna Lankford, Ricky Lankford, Ashley Miller, Dontavious Miller, Noah Lind, Brinleigh Lind, Rhonda Lind, Jesse Lind, Branson Lankford, Emmie Lankford, Jazlyn Miller, Jerzie Miller, Hilda Dover, Bob Mason, Daniel Lindsay, Nisa Lindsay, Michelle and Addy. She is also survived by her beloved cat Buddy and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who became family, especially Lindsay and Erik Brown (Brinley and Kora), and Brailey and Cannon Lacy, whom she loved dearly.
A Memorial Service to honor Summer's life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 3:30pm until 5:00pm located at 62031 Alabama Highway 231 Cleveland, Alabama 35049. Followed by a private service for family and closest friends beginning at 5:00pm.
Snead Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care and cremation arrangements.
Though Summer's time here was far too short, her light will never fade. She will be remembered always for her strength, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave. Every person who knew her carries a piece of her spirit " bright, beautiful, and eternal. She will live on in others through organ donation, her final selfless act of love.
