Rossie "Jemay" Morton Williams passed away on May 23, 2020 following a long illness at home surrounded by her family.  A loving daughter, wife, and mother, she has had a great impact on the lives of those who loved her.  She was born December 6, 1936 in Blount County to Joseph Quincy and Bessie Mae Rowan Morton (both predeceased her). She attended Susan Moore High School and was the Class of 1955 Valedictorian.  Following high school, she attended Alverson-Draughon Business College in Birmingham.  Jemay worked at the First National Bank of Oneonta several years. After which, she spent many years as a housewife and mother where she attended to the family angus farm, worked the garden, and became a notable seamstress and cook. You would remember if you ever ate any of her fried chicken, a 10 inch high cake or pecan pie that she was an excellent cook.  She also made beautiful drapes, curtains, bedspreads, and dust ruffles, as well as, dressed her girls.  She taught Sunday School at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and Mt. Zion Church of God.

Jemay is survived by her husband of 64 years, Daniel Coy (D.C.) Williams of the McLarty Community.  Two daughters, Dr.  Anita Kay Williams Prickett (Bill) Jacksonville, Alabama and Ms. Amy Rochelle Williams, Oneonta, Alabama. She had two step grandsons Tyler and Jason (Christina) Prickett.

The family visitation will be held at Snead Funeral Home on Monday, May 25, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. with funeral will be 11:00 a.m. on May 26 at Snead Funeral Home and Interment to follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Farrell Walker will conduct the service.  Music is provided by tape featuring Pat and Lynell Barker, and other artists.  The pallbearers were: Scott Jones, Russell Jones, Andrew Martin, Dale Morton, Danny Morton, and Jerome Owens.
