Michelle Copeland Thompson

Michelle Thompson, age 54, of Horton, Alabama, passed away on February 9, 2026, in the embrace of her family. Born on November 11, 1971, in Boaz, Alabama, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Michelle's life was characterized by her deep affection for her family and the joy she found in simple pleasures, weaving a tapestry of love that enriched the lives of those around her.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Corthell Copeland; her sister, Melissa Alexander; her nephew, Joey Copeland (Aundie); her niece, Leslie Collard (Brandon); her nephew, Rodney Copeland; and her niece, Kristin Cornelius (Richard). She cherished her role as an aunt to ten great nieces and nephews, and seven great-great nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart. She will also be mourned by her sister-in-law, Donna Copeland.

Michelle had a passion for creative pursuits that included crossword puzzles, crafts, and embroidering. She treasured moments spent coloring with her sister's grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with joy and laughter. Her vibrant spirit and kind nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Hayden Copeland; her brother, Michael Copeland; her grandparents, Elmer and Leona Holland; her grandparents, Julius and Lillian Copeland; and her brother-in-law, Wesley Alexander.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, concluding with a burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Horton, Alabama, at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will include Richard Cornelius, Brayden Bresseale, Jody Bresseale, Brandon Collard, Alan Clements, Jeremy Holland, Jason Smith, and Avery Smith. Christopher Cornelius will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Michelle's unwavering love for her family and her vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to thrive in the hearts of many.
