Mrs. Gladys Marie 'Polly' Stephenson Cowan, age 67 of Altoona, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Snead.  She loved her church family and was a very strong, loving person.  She will be missed so much.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years – Lester Cowan; daughter – Elizabeth Shrie 'Inna' Cowan (Jeffrey Bickerstaff); grandchildren – Armendi Jolene Cowan and Davis Lee Cowan; great grandchildren – Jordan Brian James Lee Cowan and Maliki Oren Vander Lee Cowan; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cowan is preceded in death by her parents – Dude and Odell Stephenson; siblings – Olen Stephenson, Leanord Stephenson, and Gurtie Stephenson; and son-in-law – James Oren King II.

Brother Curtis Hawkins will conduct the Funeral Service on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 7:00 PM at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home.  Mrs. Cowan will Lie In Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Sunday from 5:00 PM until Funeral Time.
