Mrs. Patricia Compton, age 67 of Snead, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Compton sang in the gospel groups "The Jesus Messengers" and "The Laughlin's" and she spent 17 years in the sewing industry. She attended Bibleway Church and enjoyed attending anything that her family was involved in.

Mrs. Compton is survived by her husband; Jerry Compton, sons; Mike Hawkins and wife Christy of Albertville, and Jeff Hawkins and wife Amy of Rockmount, GA, grandsons; Seth Hawkins, Wesley Hawkins, and Ethan Whitton; and siblings, Gene Laughlin, Glennell Laughlin, David Laughlin, Phillip Laughlin, Lavada Bachelor, Noveline Weeks, Naomi Bethea and Janie Chavies.

Brother Don Garrison and Brother Robbie Mitchell will conduct the Funeral Service Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the Snead Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at New Emmaus Cemetery. Mrs. Compton will Lie In state Tuesday from 5:30 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Wednesday from 8 A.M. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Salamone, Ethan Whitton, Bobby Garrison, Dale Hawkins, Jeff King, and Robbie Mitchell.

Mrs. Compton is going home to meet her infant son; Curtis Hawkins, her parents; Joseph Luther and Buna Octavia (Wright) Laughlin and 8 siblings.
