Mrs. Parrie Lee (Simpson) Smith, age 95 of Alpine, AL, formally of Horton, AL, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab.

She is survived by her children – Buford Smith (Elaine), Hubert Smith and Jackie Smith (Connie); grandchildren – Roger Van Wagner (Susan), Debra Van Wagner Millwood, Teresa Entriken (Allen), J.D. Van Wagner (Wendy), Angela Tyler (Teddy), Wendy Williams, Ronald Smith (Jennifer), Rowdy Smith (Lindsey), Brandon Howard (Heather), Jamie Wesson (Chuck), Eric Miller (Jessica), Angie Harmon (Chris), and Jacob Smith; 34 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; sister – Mary Bearden; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband – Sherman A. Smith; daughter – Barbara Van Wagner; parents – Rufus David and Cynthia Betty (Henderson) Simpson; siblings – Carrie Lee Young, Bertha Bee Gates, Nolen Simpson, Myrtice Beck, Jerry Simpson, Willis Simpson Virdie Alexander, and Lottie Lusk Waldrop; great grandson – William Gage Smith; and son-in-law – James Van Wagner.

Reverend Kerry Simpson will conduct the Funeral Service on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM, at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at High Point Cemetery.  Mrs. Smith will Lie-In-Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday from 12:00 PM until Funeral Time.

Her family will serve as her pallbearers.
