Mrs. Stephens was native and resident of Blount County after having lived many years in Attalla. She taught 37 ½ years in the Blount, Etowah, and Attalla School Systems with many of those years being at Stowers Hill Elementary. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and former member of New Prospect and Stowers Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Stephens' family was the joy of her life and she loved working with her flowers having been blessed with a "green thumb." She was a devoted wife of 61 years to James L. Stephens. Special Thanks to Alacare Home Health and Hospice Care and her two caregivers Shannon Sparks and Donna Ashley for their love and care.
