Michael Clyde Campbell

December 28, 1957 — February 25, 2026

Horton

Michael Clyde Campbell, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Horton, Alabama. Born on December 28, 1957, Michael was known for his joyful spirit and unwavering love for his family and pets, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

Michael was the cherished son of Nedra Campbell, who delightfully recalls his fondness for standing in the kitchen as she cooked, occasionally donning an apron himself. This shared love for cooking was just one of many ways he brought sunshine into the lives of family members. His deep affection for animals was evident in his care for his dogs and cats, and his passion for working in the yard kept him close to nature.

He possessed an unwavering enthusiasm for Elvis Presley and found solace in old Western TV shows, which complemented his lively personality. Michael was always busy, whether solving puzzles or helping around the house, and he had a unique ability to spread happiness wherever he roamed, making memories with his loved ones along the way.

He is survived by his mother, Nedra Campbell; sisters, Debra Townson and Sundra Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored him: Scott Mathus (Jenny), Melissa Talley (Eric), Nathan Townson, Kayla Shea Putman, Christian Talley, Abbigail Talley, Natalie Talley, Marlee Talley, Maya Mathus, Rinoa Mathus, Titus Mathus, and Kora Mathus.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Nathan Clyde Campbell; his grandmother, Ivalee Brown; and his grandparents, William and Della Campbell.

A visitation will be held on February 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on February 27, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, with the burial service taking place at Bethel Baptist Church at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers who will honor Michael’s memory include Boyd Brown, Nathan Townson, Scott Mathus, Eric Talley, Tracy Putman, Jamon Brown, Justin Hall, Dustin Brown, David Campbell, and Ricky Statham, along with Jason King.

Michael Clyde Campbell leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a reminder to cherish both family and the simple joys in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
