Obituary
Mrs. Mavis Bates, age 73 of Oneonta, AL., passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at St. Vincent's East Hospital.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her daughter - Leona Isbell of Oneonta, AL.; her stepson - Harvel Ray Bates, II of Blountsville, AL.; her stepdaughter - Elizabeth Bates of Blountsville, AL.; her grandchildren - Kyle Isbell, Kody Hathcock, Kaylah Bates, Skyler Bates, Jenny Moore, Chelsey Moore, and Samantha Bates; several great grandchildren; and her siblings - Rayburn Edwards of Ashville, AL., Garland Edwards of Susan Moore, AL., and Brenda Edwards of Millbrook, AL.
She is preceded in death by her husband - Harvel Ray Bates; her parents - George Verbon Edwards and Pearl Edith Gulledge Edwards; and her siblings - Jerry Edwards, Conrad Edwards, and Eudean Leach.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 1:00pm at The Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Blount Memory Gardens in Oneonta, AL.. Mrs. Bates will lie in repose at Snead Funeral Home Wednesday from 11:00am until funeral time.
