Mrs. Mary Gene Cornelius, age 94 of the High Mound Community, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Albertville Select Nursing Home.

She is survived by her children – Linda Hayes (Welton), Sandra Simmons (Tony), Judy Watkins, Rhonda Clemmer (Jerry), Gary Cornelius (Patricia) and Jeff Cornelius (Lynn); 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cornelius is preceded in death by her husband – Gurther Dale "Girt" Cornelius; grandson – Shannon Watkins, great grandson – Tyler Yancey; parents – Thomas and Bessie (Woodham) Holland; and sisters – Carroll Walden and Marilynn Holland.

Brother Rickey Harcrow and Brother Lynn Buckelew will conduct the Funeral Service on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, Wednesday from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until Funeral Time. Due to Covid-19 masks must be worn and social distancing must take place during the visitation and funeral service.

Pallbearers – Christopher Hayes, David Simmons, Jason Simmons, Adam Simmons, Scott Watkins, Justin Cornelius, and Craig Cornelius.

Honorary Pallbearers will be – Casey Cornelius and Heath Harris.
