Mr. Mark Timothy Merritt, 61 of Oneonta, Alabama, was born on July 15, 1963, to Fletcher B. and Shirley Fay (Sanders) Merritt and passed away on June 23, 2025 at TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Darlene Merritt; his parents; and his sister Kim Chumley.

Mark is survived by his son, Mark Timothy Merritt, II; his daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Daniel Skillman; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather Noel and Michael Brooks; his grandchildren, Abbigail Grace Skillman, Breanna Hope Skillman, Olivia Mae Brooks, Daniel Zachary Skillman, Mikayla Anne Merritt, and Hailee Michelle Brooks; his sister, Gina Coutch; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Crystal Merritt; his brother, Jeff Merritt; and his honorary daughter and son-in-law, Tristan and Ron Lemons.

Jeff Franklin will conduct the Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Pine Grove Community Cemetery near Altoona, Alabama. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until funeral time.
