Ms. Verna Louise McDowell, 68 of Snead, Alabama, was born on February 8, 1957, to Vernon and Dorothy (Hooper) Dunn and passed away on July 16, 2025, at Shephard's Cove Hospice in Albertville, Alabama.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Connie Stone; and her grandson, Jay Motley.

Ms. McDowell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jeff Motley; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Marie Stone; her son, Sean Stone; her grandchildren and their spouse, Macie and Karter Townes, Deven and Madison Stone, Maxavier Stone, Jordan Motley, Constance Stone, Jackson Motley, Hannah and Jon Walker; her great grandchildren, Sophia Blanken, Evelyn Stone, Ian Yancey, Skylar Yancey, Conner Walker, Braxton Walker; her sister, Patricia Dobbs; her sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Jimmy Wilemon; her brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne and Michelle Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gary Smith, and Blaine Burbanks will conduct the Funeral Service on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00am at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in the Egypt Community.  Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday, at the Church, from 10:00am until funeral time.

Maxavier Stone, Jackson Motley, Deven Stone, Ryan Kelley, Landon Smart, Randy McCoy, Jr., Tristen Dobbs, Michael Cannon, Ashton Cannon, Luke Wilemon, Adam Collier, Luke Rowan, and Jacob Henson have been asked to serve as Pallbearers.
