Mr. Louie B. Morton, age 78 of Snead, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Oneonta.
Mr. Morton proudly served his country in The United States Air Force during the Korean War Era from 1952-1956. While in The Air Force he was stationed state side in Texas and Florida, and abroad in North Africa, Asia and Japan.
He was a farmer at heart, loved to fish, hunt and loved his family. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, a Mason and a member of The Shriners.
Mr. Morton was called "Doodah" by some of his grandchildren.
Mr. Morton is survived by his wife; Wanda L. Morton, children; Louie Dale Morton and wife Sue of snead, Danny Lee Morton and wife Malinda of Snead, and Teresa Gail Morton Owens and husband Jerome of Snead, grandchildren; Jerri Leah Summerford and husband Craig, Jennifer Lynn Morton, William Brice "Billy" Morton and wife Michelle, Jessica Erin Owens Barker and husband Jeremy, Jordan Douglas Owens and wife Brittany, Jonathan Marshall Owens, and Jackson Lee Morton, great-grandchildren; Dylan and Faith Summerford, Reagan Morton, Heather and Garrett Grace, Calleigh Grace, Kennadie Cate Barker, and Raylan Brice Owens, siblings; Lawrence Jiles Morton and Linda Sue Owen, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Brother David Poole will officiate the Funeral Service, in the Chapel of Snead Funeral Home, Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2 P.M. Interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Thursday from 8 A.M. until funeral time.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Douglas Owens, Jonathan Marshall Owens, Jackson Lee Morton, Terry Morton, Don Morton, and Billy Morton.
Mr. Morton is going home to meet his parents; John Bascum and Barcie Mae (Plunckett) Morton, siblings; Reverend Leslie Morton, Ruby Lazenby, Wilma Taylor, Audron "Dick" Morton, Dorman E. Morton, Colonel Lee Morton and Johnny Wesley Morton.
