Lanelle Lewis Daily, age 77 of the Brooksville Community, passed away late Friday evening, February 17, 2023 at her residence.

She was born April 14, 1945 at Cullman Hospital to the late Clarence Andrew and Correne Rose (Millican) Lewis.  One of her childhood memories was waking up early every morning to go to work in the family peach orchards as a young girl. Lanelle was the Valedictorian of Hayden High School's 1963 Senior Class.  She married the love of her life, George Ellis Daily, of The Brooksville Community on June 8, 1967 at the Lewis family residence; then went on to graduate from Jacksonville State University on July 26, 1968.

After she and George married they moved to The Brooksville Community in 1967 where Lanelle enjoyed flower gardens, needlework, quilting, ceramics, and watching Perry Mason and Matlock.

She is survived by her daughter – Cristee Daily Startley (Jeffery Lane) of The Brooksville Community; granddaughter – Rachel Lynn Nichols; grandson – Taylor Scott Startley both of Blount County, Alabama; and brothers – Wayne Lewis (Dianne) and Don Lewis.

Mrs. Daily is preceded in death by her husband – George Ellis Daily; parents – Clarence Andrew and Correne Rose (Millican) Lewis; and parents-in-law – Ollie Clifton and Marie Elizabeth Daily.

At her request, no services will be held. For those who would have like to gather in memory of Lanelle, we ask that you just take a moment to pray for those around you in their elder years for then their times comes may it be without suffering and in their sleep.
