Mr. Kenneth Earl Thomas, age 62 of Altoona, AL., passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Thomas loved his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, and friends dearly. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, planting watermelons, and The Auburn Tigers. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his wife – Judy Grigsby of Altoona, AL.; his daughter – LuAnn Thomas of Blountsville, AL.; his son – Jene Thomas of Blountsville, AL.; his adopted daughter – Shandalynn Phillips of Blountsville, AL.; his adopted daughter and son in law – Angie and Craig Sloan of Oneonta, AL.; his adopted son and daughter in law – Rodney and April Bryson of Ringo, GA.; his adopted daughter and son in law – Rita and Dale Phillips of Blountsville, AL.; his grandchildren – Michelle Griffin, Daniel Lindsay, Matt Thomas, Lindsay Thomas, Richard Thomas, Brooklyn Milam, Hannah Bryson, Tori Milam, and Marcus Hawkins; his adopted mothers – Barbara Ann Phillips of Blountsville, AL. and Deborah Smith of Altoona, AL.; his brother and sister in law – Roger and Geraldine Thomas of Altoona, AL.; his brother and sister in law – Jerry and Jo Thomas of Altoona, AL.; his brother – Danny Thomas of Altoona, AL.; his sister – Ann Thomas of Blountsville, AL.; his brother and sister in law – Paul and Anita Thomas of Altoona, AL.; his sister and brother in law – Bett and Michael Brogdon of Union Grove, AL.; his brother and sister in law – Jan and James Evans of Oneonta, AL.; his brother and sister in law – Johnny and Kristy Thomas of Altoona, AL.; his sister – Tressa Bickerstaff of Altoona, AL.; his best friends – Charles Phillips, Ronald Bickerstaff, Dale Phillips and John Curlette, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.

Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents – Jessie and Lucille (Swords) Thomas, and his brother – Gene Thomas.

Brother Wes Lowery and Brother Michael Brogdon will conduct the funeral service, Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in the Royal Community. Mr. Thomas will lie in repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Thursday from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday from 12 (noon) until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be – Blake Skaggs, Christopher Bickerstaff, Daniel Lindsay, Mark Griffin, Matt Thomas, and Mitchell Phillips.

Honorary pallbearer will be – Jene Thomas.
