Mrs. Juanita Phillips McAfee, age 93 of Altoona, AL., passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. McAfee was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great grandmother. A loyal Methodist, she was pianist at her church
for 81 years and served for many years as church treasurer. She last
played the piano for Sunday morning services in November 2015 at
the age of 93. She was secretary at West End High School for many
years and loved the students, faculty, and administrators as if they
were all family. A sincere thank you from the family to Dr. Stephen
Avram, Dr. William Maclean, Alacare Hospice, and caregivers
Elaine Hopper, Frances Jeffers, and Connie Bodine. Flowers and

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Philip and Patricia McAfee, son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Sara McAfee, son and daughter-in-law Rex and Amy McAfee, daughter Dale McClendon, and daughter Alice Hamby. She is also survived by her grandchildren Candee (Stephen) Clarke, Cindy (Allen) Barron, Mark McClendon, Michael (Kari) McAfee, Kristi (Spencer) Glassco, Matt (Jane) McClendon, Daniel McAfee, Nicholas McAfee, Cary Hamby, and Leah McAfee, eleven great grandchildren, sister Imogene Clifton, brother-in-law Edward Clifton, sister-in-law Ann Phillips, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Reverend Harvey Beck and Reverend Joey Smith will conduct the funeral service on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 2:30pm at Altoona First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Altoona-Walnut Grove Cemetery. Mrs. McAfee will lie in state at the Church on Sunday from 12(noon) until funeral time. Snead Funeral Home Directing.

Mark McClendon, Michael McAfee, Matt McClendon, Daniel McAfee, Nicholas McAfee, and Cary Hamby will serve as pallbearers.
