Joshua Luke Dunn, 43, passed away June 27, 2024. Josh was born in Gadsden, AL on June 07, 1981 to JW and Zella Dunn.

Josh graduated from West End High School, Class of 1999 and on May 25, 2002 he married his high school sweetheart and had 2 beautiful children together.

Josh was employed as Shop Supervisor at Jefferson County Transportation Department and had planned on retiring next month with 25 years of service.

Josh was an outdoorsman and loved doing anything outdoors from riding four-wheelers to riding horses. He loved fishing and could stay on a pond or lake all day regardless of catching anything. He loved baseball and going to watch his favorite team, The Atlanta Braves, play. He coached his son's youth baseball team for several years and he loved the boys like his own. He loved the beach and just being with his family and friends.

Josh is preceded in death by his mom Zella Dunn; and grandparents Velmar and Lillian Dunn. He is survived by his wife Kim of 22 years, and two cherished children Lucas and Harper, who were his everything. Josh also leaves behind his dad JW Dunn, parents-in-law Wayne & Patsy Smith brother and sister-in-law Russel & Cindy Gentry brother and sister-in-law Jason & Amy Smith, nieces Emily, Hannah, & Madison, nephews Ethan, Trevor, Adrian & Caleb, and a great-nephew on the way. Josh also leaves behind several cousins and a host of friends.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Debora Reiland and her staff at North Alabama Family Practice as well as the nurses on the CCU floor of Riverview who took great care of Josh.

In Lieu of Flowers the family suggest donations be made to The Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memory of Josh.

Brother David Dunn will conduct the Funeral Service on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 4:00 PM at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, from 2:30 PM until Funeral Time.
