Mr. John Wayne Eakes, age 75 of Horton, AL., passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Eakes is survived by his wife – Linda Sparks Eakes, of Horton, AL., his son and daughter in law – Wayne and Joy Eakes of Horton, AL., his daughter – Patricia Fulton of Walnut Grove, AL., his granddaughter and her husband – LeAnna and Brandon Epperson, his granddaughter and her fiancé – Jamie Nash and Phillip Russo, his great grandchildren – RyLee Epperson, Trenton Epperson and MaddaLynn Nash Russo, his brother and sister in law – Richard and Diana Eakes of Steele, AL., his brother and sister in law – Charles and Shelby Jean Eakes of Oneonta, AL., and his brother in law – Roy Sparks of Rosa, AL.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter – Tosha Shores Eakes, his parents – Molan Lester and Clarice (Bennett) Eakes, his brothers - Bennie Joe Eakes and Jackie Eakes and his sister in law – Merlene Sparks.

Funeral Service, for Mr. Eakes, will be Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dailey's Chapel Cemetery in Rosa, AL. Mr. Eakes will lie in repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Wednesday from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 12 (noon) until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Lester Eakes, Josh Conway, Brady Walker,
Eddie Eakes, Glenn Beasley, Bart Summerford, Brandon Epperson, and Phillip Russo.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Snead Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
