Mr. John Deward Amason, Jr., age 69 of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center.

Mr. Amason was born August 9, 1942 to John Deward, Sr. and Alma Irene (Bradberry) Amason. he was a member of the Susan Moore High School Class of 1960 and a Member of the 101st Airborne Infantry of the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter; Lee and Bobby Montgomery, 2 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, sister; Brenda and Stanley Digerness of Birmingham, nephews; Derrick Amason, Daniel Amason, and Chad Amason Hill, aunts; Lela and Earl Ketron and Sue and Harold Ballew, and 1 cousin.

Mrs. Brenda Digerness and Brother Harold Ballew will conduct the Funeral Service from the graveside at Wynnville Cemetery on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11 A.M. No visitation is scheduled.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Digerness, Billy Mac Eller, Derrick Amason, and Daniel Amason.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Jackie Brooks.
