Mr. Joey Malone Broom, of Snead, Alabama, born April 11, 1967, to Willie Joe and Patricia Ann Malone Broom, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Cullman, Alabama at the age of 58.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Jacky Ponder.

Joey was a council member for the Town of Snead, an esteemed member of the Snead Community, an active member of the Compassion City Church in Albertville, and a Huge Alabama Fan!  He was the best Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend!  "Big PaPa"

He is survived by his wife, Khristie Broom; his son and daughter-in-law, Dylan and Michelle Broom; his daughter and son-in-law, Kennedy and Justin Hill; his son and daughter-in-law, Jacey and Jennifer Payne; and his daughter, Karlye Payne; his grandchildren, Carla, Jack, Kiara, Lawson, Knox, Joe, Coy, Finlee, Loclan, and Kipp; his sister and brother-in-law, Darlyne and Steve White; his sister and brother-in-law, Tawnya and Rob Branham; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Ponder; his sister-in-law and husband, Mistie and Shannon Mashburn; and his brother-in-law and wife, Jody and Tiffany Ponder.

Jon Henderson, Jack Starkey, and Wayne Hurst will conduct the Funeral Service on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Susan Moore High School Gymnasium.  Mr. Broom will Lie in Repose, at Susan Moore High School Gymnasium, from 4:00 p.m. until funeral time.

Steve White, Irving Tapia, John Starkey, Jerry Dale Hogeland, David Lesnansky, Mitch White, Tyler White, Greg Ogles, and Todd Dillard have been asked to serve as Pallbearers with Bill Ashworth as Honorary Pallbearer.

At the request of Mr. Broom, after the service his body will be cremated, and his cremains will be returned to his family. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Joey Broom Scholarship Fund at HomeTown Bank.
