Mr. Joe Edward Franklin, age 78 of Horton, AL, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife – Annette Price Franklin of Horton, AL; his children – Michael Franklin (Michelle) of the Nixon Chapel Community, Terry Franklin (Lisa) of Susan Moore, Barbara Cockrell (Alan) of South Carolina, Sunshine Franklin of Horton,  and Tim Franklin (Samantha) of Albertville; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings – Mary Franklin of Nixon Chapel, Floyd Franklin (Kathleen) of Douglas, Roy Franklin (Cathy) of Douglas, Ray Franklin (Tammy) of the Highmound Community, and Brenda Whisenant (Dale) of Nixon Chapel; his sister-in-law – Patricia Franklin of Boaz; and his precious fur baby – Rusty.

Mr. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents – Earnest and Mary Alice (Fondren) Franklin; his siblings – Betty Jean Franklin, W.I. Franklin, E.J. Franklin, Robert Franklin, and Shirley Chamblee; and his sisters-in-law – Sue Ann Franklin and Gail Franklin.

Brother Mark Jones, Brother Mike Young, and Brother Paul Jones will conduct the Funeral Service on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM from High Mound Missionary Baptist Church, with Snead Funeral Home Directing.  Mr. Franklin will Lie-In-Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Thursday from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, at the church, from 12(noon) until Funeral Time.

Pallbearers will be – George Johnson, Tyler Franklin, Donald Ray Franklin, Josh Franklin, Adam Franklin, Wyatt Franklin, and Lucas Rainwater.

Honorary Pallbearers will be – Norris Fortenberry, Austin Abercrombie, and Scott Garner.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Ascension Hospice and caregiver – Donna for the excellent care given to Mr. Franklin and the family during his illness.

The family express a special appreciation to the community for all their kind love, prayers, and support.
