Mrs. Joanie Brown, age 59, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 while surrounded by family.  She was born August 24, 1963 in Dallas, TX to Emory and Edna (Holt) Morton, She was a 1981 graduate of Erwin High School in Center Point, AL.  She went on to obtain her degree in education from The University of Alabama in Birmingham.  She married David Brown on November 12, 1992 in Center Point, which led to her greatest accomplishments, Stephanie and Stacey Brown.  Her love of teaching changed the lives of many in her 31 years of service.  She enjoyed spending time in her flowers and with her pets.  But most of all, she loved being with her family.  Her love and sense of humor will be greatly missed.  She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Stephanie and Stacey; parents, Emory and Edna Morton; sister, Lynne Poore; brother, Jay (Celia) Morton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Funeral Services will be Monday, June 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home, 170 Richman Drive, with Reverend John Fallin officiating. Pallbearers will include Jay Morton, Kenny Marshall, Rick Bourquard, Adam Bourquard, Michael Bourquard, and Jeremy Young.  Burial will be in Hood Cemetery, Blountsville.  The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 PM until Funeral Time.
