Ms. Jewell Thompson Kemp, age 89 of the McClarty Community of Horton, AL., passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

Jewell worked at Blue Bell and Liberty Trousers for more than 20 years. She loved to work outside in her yard. She was a kind and caring lady and loved to talk to everyone. She will missed by many.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law - Randy "Punk" and Gwen Kemp of Oneonta, AL., and her son - Steve A. Kemp of Louisiana; her chosen son - Jimmie Wayne Kemp; her grandchildren - Forrest and Cathy Kemp of Arab, AL., Chris and Angie Kemp of Kentucky, Scott and Brandee Kemp of Louisiana, Chad and Jennifer Kemp of Louisiana, and Shannon Schwarze of Texas; her great-great grandchildren - Jacob Kemp, Lily Kemp, Heath Kemp, Ethan Kemp, Samuel Kemp, Lillie Kemp, Seth Kemp, Sydnee Kemp, Samuel Kemp, Billy Kemp, Bailey Kemp, Jewel Ann Kemp, and William Kemp; and her siblings - Etoil Painter, Dorothy Nelson, Barbara Fowler, Jack Thompson, and Ken Thompson.

Ms. Kemp is preceded in death by her husband - John William "Billy" Kemp; her sons - John Wayne Kemp and Allen Lee Kemp; her grandson - William Steven Kemp; her parents - James Ward and Fannie Gertrude (Chandler) Thompson; and her siblings - William Alton Thompson, David Lamar Thompson, Sue Wright, and Earl Thompson.

Glenn Stewart, Robbie Burtram, Randy Burtram, and Jerry Painter will conduct the funeral service Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00am at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Ms. Kemp will lie in repose at Snead Funeral Home Friday from 5:30pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am until funeral time.

Scott Kemp, Chad Kemp, Forrest Kemp, Chris Kemp, Jacob Kemp, and Seth Kemp will serve has pallbearers.
