Mrs. Janet Rains Smith passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.

From the time of her baptism, Jan was a faithfully member of Baptist churches. She held a Master's Degree and spent 26 years teaching at Corley Elementary School in Boaz, AL and Douglas Middle School in Douglas, AL.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years - W. David Smith; son and daughter-in-law - J.D. and Daniela Smith; grandson - Alexander Smith; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Bonnie Rains; sisters-in-law - Pat Brooks (Marlin) and Pam Smith; numerous neices and nephews and their familes; and great aunts - Kathryn Reed and Sue Smith.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents - Billy H. and Coralene Rains.

Legacy Service celebrating Jan's life will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, Saturday from 10:00 AM until Service Time.
