Mr. James A. Whittington, age 73 of the Wilson Chapel Community, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Oneonta.

Mr. Whittington is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Mackie & Sharon Whittington of the Wilson Chapel Community. He is also survived by 1 niece and 6 nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Leona Allred Whittington; sister Dorothy Alexander; and brother Alton Whittington.

Brother Jeff McCay will conduct the funeral service @ 2pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wynnville Cemetery. Mr. Whittington will lie in state at Snead Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:30pm until 7:00pm and Wednesday from 12(noon) until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Harold Whittington, Eddie Whittington, John Whittington, Tommy Whittington, Jimmy Whittington, and Michael Owens.
