Mr. James L. Stephens, age 88 of Snead, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Marshall Medical Center South in Boaz.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his children Sandra and Bill Hall of Albertville and Terry and Sandy Stephens of Hoover; his grandchildren Ben and Diana Hall of Georgia, Josh and Whitney Hall of Georgia, Jeb and Erin Hall of North Carolina, Catie and Taylor Glaze of Birmingham, and Bo and Kaley Stephens of Birmingham; his great grandchildren Mason Hall, Anna Claire Hall, Burton Hall, Smith Hall, Parker Hall, Kaylin Hall, Stone Hall, and Patton Stephens Glaze. Mr. Stephens is also survived by his sister Ruby Morton of Boaz.

James is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Stephens; parents I.C. and Ada Webb Stephens; and siblings Keith Stephens, Mildred Merritt, and Joe Davidson.

Brother Curtis Hawkins and Brother Bric Latham will conduct the 2pm funeral service on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Stephens will lie in state at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday from 12(Noon) until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hall, Josh Hall, Jeb Hall, Bo Stephens, Taylor Glaze, and Randall Morton.
