Obituary

Mr. James Brown passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his residence in Priceville, Alabama. He was 68 years old.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife: Tracy Brown of Priceville, Alabama,
daughter: Sonya Troxtel of Gadsden, Alabama, step-daughters: Dara Carnes of Douglas, Alabama, and Michelle Couey of Hartselle, Alabama, step-son: John Neal of Trinity, Alabama.

Grandchildren: Jessica Bailey, Justin Carnes, Tate Neal, Talon Neal, Andrey Couey, Brooke Couey, Kyle Troxel, Kaley Troxtel, and Alexis Brown.

Siblings: Patricia Brown Weems of Oneonta, Alabama, Susan Blankenship of Oneonta, Alabama, and sister-in-law: Debra Brown of Douglas, Alabama.

Host of Nieces and Nephews

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his son: James Ashley Brown, parents: James Newman "Sprout" Brown and Elvie Gerome Long Brown, brother: Ronald Brown, and brother-in-law: John Weems.

Mr. Brown was a 1963 graduate of Douglas High School. He served his country in The United States Air Force and was a lifetime member of The Vietnam Veterans of America. Mr. Brown worked for Brown and Root, Inc. and was a member of Somerville Baptist Church. He was a longtime resident of Morgan County, Alabama.

David Lewis, Josh Grubbs, and Moses Clark, the music minister of First Baptist Church of Oneonta, will conduct the 1:00pm funeral service Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at The Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery. Mr. Brown will Lie In State at Snead Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00am until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Register, Dusty Register, Jason Brown, Russell Brown, Justin Carnes, and Mike Graben.
