Mr. Jacky Eugene Ponder, age 64 of Snead, AL., passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014.

Jacky was married for 45 years to the love of his life, Ms. Rosemary Hamby Ponder. He retired from CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Carmel First United Methodist Church.

Jacky is survived by his wife Rosemary Hamby Ponder of Snead, his children Khristie & Joey Broom of Snead, Mistie & Shannon Mashburn of Walnut Grove, and Jody & Tiffany Ponder of Snead; his grandchildren Jacey & Jennifer Payne, Karlye Payne, Dylan Broom, Kennedy Broom, Corey & Brittany Mashburn, Montanna Mashburn, Addison Mashburn, Adah Lynn Ponder, and Myla Mae Ponder; great grandchildren Jack Ponder Payne and Lawson Payne. He is also survived by his brother Jim & Kitty Ponder and his sister Carolyn & Raymond Stevenson.

Mr. Ponder is preceded in death by his parents Claude & Janelle Taylor Ponder.

Brother Glenn Stewart will conduct the Eleven O'clock funeral service on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Ponder will lie in state at Snead Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:30pm until 8:00pm and Thursday from 8:30am until funeral time.
