Ivalee Brown, better known as "Granny Brown", passed away April 10, 2013. She was 94 years old.

She is survived by one son, Charles Brown and wife Carol, three daughters, Nedra Campbell, Cathy Grimes and husband Robert, Shelia Brumblow and husband Johnny, 12 grand children, twenty great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents William Robert Nelson and Liddie McCollum Nelson, her husband Onus D. Brown, two grandchildren, one sister and three brothers.

Ivalee remained a widow and faced life's hardships with a strength and faith that only comes from putting God first. She raised two children after her husband passed away and always put their needs before her own.

She was a talented seamstress and also provided childcare for a number of children during her lifetime. She always shared what she had with others who were in need.

She leaves a legacy of faith that her children will always look to with pride. Her life was truly dedicated to God. She has been a member of Pleasant Valley Church for the past 78 years and faithfully attended church until her health failed two years ago.

She was a woman who took great pride in her family always pointing them toward God and the Christian way of life.

She may never have won any awards or achieved any great deeds in this life, but she will always be remembered for the kindness she showed to all who knew her. Her rewards are waiting with the Father; for she has earned each star that will be set in her heavenly crown.

Brother Michael Brogdon, Brother Ricky Statham, Brother Dustin Brown, and Brother Johnny McDowell will conduct the funeral service at Pleasant Valley Church, with Snead Funeral Home Directing, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in NeSmith Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home and Saturday, at the church from 10 A.M. until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Boyd Brown, Johnathon Brown, Michael Campbell, Jason King, Stephen King and Justin Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaymon Brown and Nathan Thomason.
