Mrs. Irene Payne, age 93 of Altoona, AL., passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Riverview Hospital.

Irene was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. She loved life and everyone in it. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and granny. She loved dancing, playing games, and the Atlanta Braves. She never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter - Linda Hutchens of Altoona, AL.; her son and daughter-in-law - Jimmy and Joyce Payne of Altoona, AL.; her son and daughter-in-law - Hoyt and Karen Payne of Altoona, AL.; her daughter and son-in-law - Charlotte and James Wilbert of Altoona, AL.; her son and daughter-in-law - Mickey and Ann Payne of Memphis, TN.; her son and daughter-in-law - Rickey and Betty Payne of Albertville, AL.; and her daughter and son-in-law - Sheila and Ronnie Johnson of Egypt, AL. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.

Ms. Payne is preceded in death by her husband - Alval Payne; her son-in-law - Kenneth Hutchens; her mother - Tina Saye; her father - Clifford J. Saye; and her sister - Audrey Sitz.

Allen Johnson, Levon Nailer, Steve Abernathy, and Mary Muskett will conduct the funeral service Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at Second Baptist Church of Altoona. Interment will follow at Samuel's Chapel Cemetery. Ms. Payne will lie in repose at Snead Funeral Home Saturday from 5:30pm until 8:00pm and Sunday at the church from 12(noon) until funeral time.

Dale Hutchens, Barry Payne, Kevin Wilbert, Philip Johnson, William Edmonson, Luke Barkley, and Allen Adair will serve as pallbearers.
