Mr. Ira Thomas Ellison, age 74 of Snead, AL., passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife – Ruth Ellison of Snead, AL.; his son and daughter-in-law – Eddie and Heather Ellison of Snead, AL., his son and daughter-in-law – Johnny and Kristy Ellison of Ector, TX., his son and daughter-in-law – Gary and Lisa Ellison of Douglas, AL., his son and daughter-in-law – Kenneth and Melissa Ellison of Portland, TN.; his grandchildren – Kelli and Michael Martin, Alyssa Ellison, Jessica and Troy Tautfest, Johnny and Stacey Thomason, Dale and Marie Ellison, Ethan and Jessica Ellison, Ryan Ellison, Braden Ellison, Madyson and Santana Acosta, Amy Ellison, Cody and Rosalyn Haynes, Jacob Haynes, and Amanda Ellison; his great grandchildren – Ever Lee James Udelhoven, Jackson Thomas Udelhoven, Lincoln Jonathon Udelhoven, Emily Marie Thomason, Gunner Lee Thomason, Ashton Thomason, Alma Lee Grace Acosta, Austin Whited, Eli Haynes and expecting baby Bentley Acosta; his brother and sister-in-law – L.D. and Kathy Ellison of Douglas, AL., his brother and sister-in-law – Michael Ray and Janice Ellison of Snead, AL., his sister and brother-in-law – Karen and Bill Mosley of Ranger, TX., his sister – Eula Rodriquez of Brownfield, TX., his sister and brother-in-law – Linda Gail and Scooter Chumley of Phoenix, AZ., his sister and brother-in-law – Teresa and Roger Leitner of Glenco, AL., and his sister and brother-in-law – Laura Ann and Wayne Poe of Breman, GA.
Mr. Ellison is preceded in death by his parents – Howard Leon and Bertie Mae (Compton) Ellison, and his sisters – Joann Thompson, Dorothy Smart, and Sue Martin.
Danny Skillman will conduct the Funeral Service on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel FMC Church, with Snead Funeral Home Directing. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Ellison will lie in repose, at Snead Funeral Home, on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and Friday from 12(noon) until 1:00 p.m.
