Homer West

Homer West, born January 31, 1949, passed away on September 28, 2026.

Homer will be remembered as a man who loved his family deeply and found joy in the things that brought excitement and tradition to life. He loved street racing, a passion that reflected his spirited nature, and he also loved REAL Easter eggs, a detail that speaks to the simple, memorable pleasures that helped make him who he was. Above all, his family was at the center of his life and his heart.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his sons, Tim West, Jerack West, and Chad West; and his daughters, Mary Ann Glover, Mary Elizabeth Duke, Rebecca Gail Nickelson, Lela Mae Bell, and Tamara Skinner. Each of them carries forward the memory of his love and the place he held in their lives.

Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie West; his son, William Homer West; his father, Homer West; his mother, Mattie Parker. Their memories remained part of his story, and they are remembered with him now.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Homer at Snead Funeral Home, 170 Richman Drive, PO Box 501, Snead, AL 35952. Visitation will be held on October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Cremation is also scheduled through Snead Funeral Home on October 3, 2026.
