Mr. Henry E. Pate, age 73 of Horton, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Pate was a graduate of Auburn University, served as Blount County Commissioner from 1990 – 1994, retired from the USDA's Poultry Inspection Division, and was a poultry farmer for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years – Peggy Hudson Pate; daughters – Julie (Shelby) McMahon of Demorest, GA, and Rachel (Richard) Duncan of Reading, UK; son – Jason Pate of Albertville; and grandsons – Cody McMahon, Chase McMahon, Ethan Duncan, and Jack Duncan.
Mr. Pate is preceded in death by his granddaughters – Alexa Belle McMahon and Phoebe Rose Duncan; parents – Ralph and Shirley (Grigsby) Pate; father-in-law and mother-in-law; Troy and Ruby Jo (Berry) Hudson.
Brother Michael Cornelius will conduct the Funeral Service Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Graveside at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pate will Lie-In-Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Friday from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
Pallbearers will be - Jerry Woodard, Jim Carr, Glenn Pate, Max Pate, Barry Marsh, and Michael Cornelius.
