Ms. Hazel Louise Whitfield passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at her residence in Walnut Grove, Alabama. She was 86 years old.

Hazel is survived by her children:

Carolyn and Jimmy Lance of Walnut Grove, AL.

Gail Whitmore of Altoona, AL.

Kay and Mike Osborn of Snead, AL.

Shelia and Wayne Dobbs of Royal Community.

Grandchildren: Terry Bryant, Jerry (Jennifer) Lance, Donnie Bryant, Tina Norris (Russell), Michael (Pam) Lance, Tim Tant, Leann (Keith) Smith, Angelia "Pooh Bear" (Joe) Wilemon.

Great Grandchildren: Heather "Feather" (Brandon) Fulenwider, Ashley (Mike) Atkins, Jerrod (Jessica) Lance, Dustin Romaine, Brandon Lance, Aleiah Lance, Preston Smith, Katherine Smith, Elizabeth Grace Lance, Scott Wilemon, and Sharonica Wilemon.

Great-Great Grandchildren: Brennan Fulenwider, Bayleigh Harrington, Dylan Atkins, Khylie Fulenwider, and Nathaniel Atkins.

Ms. Whitfield is preceded in death by her husband: Amos "Tiny" Whitfield, her parents: Grady and Carrie Dowdy, and brother: Horace Dowdy.

James McDonald and J.D. Nash will conduct the 11:00am funeral service on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at The Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. Ms. Whitfield will Lie In State at Snead Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and Wednesday from 8:30am until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be: Danny Martin, Arlin Norris, Wally Jackson, Brandon Fulenwider, Mike Atkins, and Robert Steele, Sr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brennan Fulenwider, Preston Smith, and Casey Bryant
