Ms. Gladys P. Brown, of Gadsden, Alabama, born November 20, 1924 to Earnest and Willie Mae (Wagnon) Brooks, lived 100 years before passing away on December 12, 2024 at McGuffey Healthcare Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ for over fifty years where she served as a caretaker for the sick cooking and serving her famous apple and chocolate fried pies.  Gladys will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Ms. Brown is survived by her daughter, Carol Peterson (Wayne); her son, Phillip Brown; her grandchildren, Jeff Peterson (Kim), Aimee Parker (David), and Zac Brown (Michele); her great grandchildren, Brayden Peterson, Nathan Parker, Samuel Parker, Harrison Brown, and Sullivan Brown; and her sister, Doris Miller.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Pete Brown; her parents and her siblings, Elmer Brooks, Joe Brooks, Louise Marshall, Hubert Brooks, Hank Brooks, and Lebert Brooks.

Brooks Boyd and Dave Leonard will conduct the funeral service on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Snead.  The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, Monday beginning at 1:00 PM.   Snead Funeral Home is humbled to serve the Brown Family.

Zac Brown, Jeff Peterson, Michael Miller, David Parker, Marlin Brooks, and Larry Brooks will serve as Pallbearers.

The Brown Family would like to thank Hospice of Alabama, McGuffey Healthcare, and Glorine Newton, a special friend, for always helping take care of Ms. Gladys.
