Mrs. Gay Nell (Smith) Gillespie, age 94 of Snead, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Diversicare in Boaz.

She is survived by her son – Johnny White (Dottie); step-daughter - Mona Lee Tucker (Gary); 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister – Bonnie Sanders; and sisters-in-law – Judy Williams and Jo Ann Smith.

Mrs. Gillespie is preceded in death by her husband – Gerald P. Gillespie, children – Jimmy Dale White and Connie Mendoza, step-daughter – Lowery Kay Russell; parents – J.T. and Betty Viola (Yancey) Smith; and brothers – James Smith and Hulon Smith.

Brother David Socha and Brother Wayne White will conduct the Funeral Service on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Boaz. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, Monday from 12:00 PM until Funeral Time.

Pallbearers will be – Bill Langley, Josh Driver, Emililo Mendez, and Dylan Driver.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caregivers at Diversicare of Boaz and Heartlite Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Gillespie.
