Mr. Ermon Travis Hammett, age 93 of Snead, AL., passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Boaz, AL.

Mr. Hammett worked 41.5 years at Republic Steel in Gadsden, AL.. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Susan Moore, AL. and was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge #708 in Snead, AL..

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law - James Earl and Donna Hammett of Snead, AL.; son and daughter-in-law - Lee and Barbara Hammett of Prattville, AL.; daughter - Jean Towns of Detroit; grandchildren - Camron Hammett, Amanda Hayden, Nicole Muns, Brenae Dunaway, Katrina Summerville, Shannon Hammett, and Michael Hammett. He is also survived by 28 great and great-great grandchildren.

Ermon is preceded in death by his wife - Elmira Hammett; grandson - James Eric Hammett; parents - Irvin Monroe and Ithoma Elizabeth (Frazier) Hammett; and his brothers - Eugene, Glenn, Floyd, Guy Ray, Wilber Lee, and Morris Ray.

Bric Latham and Nicole Muns will conduct the funeral service on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00pm at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Hammett will lie in repose at Snead Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00am until funeral time.

The Masonic Lodge Members will serve as pallbearers.
