Eloise Hudson, a beloved member of the Snead community, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 27, 1932, Eloise led a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a spirit of adventure that touched all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Susan Moore High School, Eloise’s professional journey was distinguished by her extensive career in banking. Beginning at State National Bank, she went on to contribute her talents to Central Bank, Compass Bank, and ultimately BBVA Compass Bank before retiring. Her unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her professional achievements, Eloise enriched her life through her passions. She loved to shop and travel, savoring new experiences and discoveries along the way. These interests brought her joy and deepened her connections to the world around her.
Eloise was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 45 years, Billie Hudson; her parents, Zeddie and Ilene Cowan; and her sister, Elnora Keith. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story and legacy.
She is lovingly survived by her niece, Debbie Ratliff Benson; nephews Jesse Keith (Beverly), and Lamar Keith; as well as special friends Sharon James and Nancy Bellinger. She also leaves behind cousins Morris Ratliff, Grant Ratliff, Linda Harbrecht, and Virginia King, who have been a steady source of support and comfort.
The community will gather to honor Eloise's life with a visitation on March 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church. Following this, a funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The final farewell will take place at Bethel Cemetery, beginning at 2:00 PM, where she will be laid to rest.
The pallbearers—James Benson, Rickey Wright, Pat Ratliff, Joey King, Brett Smith, Jesse Keith, and Lamar Keith—will carry her to her resting place, honoring her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives.
Eloise’s journey through life was rich with love, friendship, and dedication. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience. As her family, friends, and the entire community remember and celebrate her life, they hold close the beautiful memories she created and the enduring spirit she shared with all.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to make donations to Bethel Baptist Church or Shepherds Cove
