Mrs. Dorotha Mae (Ellison) Smart, age 72 of Snead, AL., passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center South.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law - Jeanette and Rick Huff of Crossville, AL., her son - Bo Smart of Douglas, AL., her son - Dwayne Smart of Douglas, AL., her son and daughter-in-law - James and Jill Smart of Rainsville, AL., her son - Jerome Smart of Boaz, AL., and her son and daughter-in-law - Billy Ray and Kate Smart of Illinois; 18 - grandchildren; 26 - great grandchildren; and 4 - great-great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law - Thomas and Ruth Ellison of Snead, AL., her brother and sister-in-law - LD and Kathy Ellison of Douglas, AL., her brother and sister-in-law - Michael and Janice Ellison of Snead, AL., her sister and brother-in-law - Karen and Bill Mosley of Texas, her sister - Eula Rodriguez of Texas, her sister and brother-in-law - Linda and Scooter Chumley of Alaska, her sister and brother-in-law - Teresa and Roger Litner of Gadsden, AL., and her sister - Laura Roberston of Georgia.

Mrs. Smart is preceded in death by her husband - Clyde Smart, her daughter - Barbara Sparks, her grandson - Steven Dwayne Smart, her grandson - Jaxon Benefield, her parents - Howard Leon and Britie Mae Ellison, her sister - Laura Sue Martin, and her sister - Joann Thompson.

Brother Bill Rucker and Brother Gary Ellison will conduct the funeral service Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel of the Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Snead, AL.  Mrs. Smart will lie in repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Friday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Matt Filteau, Blake Lemaster, Richard Clinton, Eric Smart, Eddie Ellison, Bud Pendergrass, Keith Bowman and Nick Dixon.
