Mr. Danny Wayne Gillilan, age 63 of Altoona, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Shepherd's Cove Hospice in Albertville.
Mr. Gillilan was born January 21, 1946 to James Ray and Bobbie Faye (Lucy) Gillian.
He was a loving and supportive
husband and father. Mr. Gillilan proudly served his country in The Unites States Army during the Vietnam War. After the War he worked for the City of Gadsden for 4 years, he then went to work for Goodyear and retired after 22 years due to battling Parkinson's disease. He has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife; Diane Smith Gillilan, daughters; Dana Terrell (Melton)of Florida and Danae' Ford (Robert DePaemelaere) of Altoona, grandchildren; His very special grandson, Dalton Ford, Stormy Ford, Connor Terrell, and Jacob Terrell, mother; Bobbie Faye Gillilan of Altoona, siblings; Bobby Gillilan (Shirley) of Altoona, Robert Gillilan (Delana) of Altoona, Cleary Gillilan (Martha) of Albertville, and Tanny Zills (DeWayne) of Altoona, 1 niece and 7 nephews.
Brother Jason King will conduct the private Funeral Service on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2 P.M. from the Chapel of Snead Funeral Home with Interment in Mt. Olive Cemetery. There will be a private viewing for family only Thursday from 1 P.M. until funeral time.
Mr. Gillilan is going home to meet his father; James Ray Gillilan.
Pallbearers will be Robert DePaemelaere, Dale Vaughn, Josh Gillilan, Justin Smith, and Jonathan Smith
