Reverend Clarence Edward Smoot, age 89 of The Straight Mountain Community, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at his residence.

Reverend Smoot was a Member of The United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Gaynell McClendon Smoot of Straight Mountain, his children - Kevin and Lisa Smoot of Oneonta, AL, Linda and Albert Rose of Oneonta, AL, Cindy and James Wilson of Oneonta, AL, Shawn and Joni Bellew of Jacksonville, AL, and Terry and Shannon Bellew of Altoona, AL; special great grandchildren - Allie Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Landon Rose, and Jansen Rose; as well as a host of grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Reverend Smoot is preceded in death by his ex wife - Elliev Ruth Smoot; his daughter - Reba McLeod; his mother - Willie Bell Martin; and his brother - Harold Smoot.

Brother Jerry "Jake" Beasley will conduct the Funeral Service on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Lord's House of Prayer, with Snead Funeral Home Directing.  Interment will follow at Mauldin Cemetery.  Reverend Smoot will Lie In Repose, at Lord's House of Prayer, Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be - Albert Rose, Cody Rose, A.J. Rose, Dalton Goble, Shane Smith, and Lee Goble.
