Obituary
Mrs. Burta Elizabeth Sims, age 83 of Douglas, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Sims was born January 15, 1929 to Bert and Nellie Carter Brantley. She was a member of Douglas United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters; Joan and Roger Peppers of McClarty and Nancy and Paul Martin of Hyatt, a son; Julian and Glenda Sims of Douglas, 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She is going home to meet her husband; Verbon Sims, a grandson; Client Jimmerson, and her parents; Bert and Nellie Carter Brantley.
Brother Paul Kelley and Brother David Socha will conduct the Funeral Service Monday, July 1, 2012 at 11 A.M. from Douglas United Methodist Church with Snead Funeral Home Directing. Mrs. Sims will Lie-In-State, at Snead Funeral Home, Sunday from 5:30 P.M. until 8 P.M. and at the church Monday from 10 A.M. until funeral time.
Pallbearers will be Josh Moore, Mark Thacker, Alan Thacker, Wendell Sims, Wayne Williams, and Chase Self.
