Mr. Billy Max Mayo, 89 of Altoona, (Snead) Alabama, was born on May 19, 1936, to Leroy and Verna (Hamby) Mayo and passed away on July 26, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Mayo; his parents; and his siblings, Myra Jo Criswell, Maurine Waldrop, Gerome Mayo, and Ronald Mayo.

Mr. Mayo is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Frankie Umphrey; his son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Donna Mayo; his grandson and spouse, Josh and Neva Umphrey; his granddaughter and spouse, Amanda and William Allen; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Umphrey, Easton Mashburn, and Molly Mashburn.

Curtis Hawkins will conduct the Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 am at Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Wynnville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 am.

Gary Cornelius, Graig Cornelius, Jimmy Mayo, Daniel Mayo, Len Hutchens, and Jeromy Hutchens have been asked to serve as Pallbearers.
