Mr. Billy Franklin Harper, age 86 of The Wilson Chapel Community, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his residence.

Billy Harper was married to his wife, Shelby for 65 years, he had 4 children.  He loved his family more than anything and he will be missed by all who knew him.  Mr. Harper was a hardworking man; retired from the State of Alabama Highway Department after 30 years of work and then he worked 10 years for Allgas. He also loved farming and gardening.

He is survived by his children – Jeff Harper (Vinnie), Sherry Elaine Harper (Bert), and Jeanne Smith (Barry); his grandchildren – Rocky Harper, Bubba Harper (Stacey), David Harper (Holly), Daniel Thomason (Angelica), Shane Harper (Karen), Rexall Harper (Kodi), Miranda Pennell (Andrew), Jonathan Hendrix (Harley), Makala Smith, Brianna Smith, Brandon Smith, and Shayla Smith; 17 – great grandchildren; and sister – Emogene Harper.

Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his wife – Shelby Jean Harper; his son – Allen Harper; his grandchildren – Keith Harper, Cory Smith, and Crystal Smith; his parents – Virgil and Mattie Harper; and his 10 siblings.

Brother Willie D. Harper and Barry Smith will conduct the Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 12 (noon) at The Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Wynnville Cemetery.  Mr. Harper will Lie-In-Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Monday from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday form 10:00 AM until Funeral Time.

Pallbearers will be – Rocky Harper, Bubba Harper, Shane Harper, Rex Harper, David Harper, Daniel Thomason, John Paul Hendrix, and Brandon Smith.
